James 5:7
The cooler evenings are putting me in the mood for Fall Decorating, but I think it will be a little while before I actually pull out the boxes with my Pumpkins, Leaves and all things Fall
All these projects, combined cost only a few dollars, you don't have to have a huge budget to spice things up for Fall!
I know what you're thinking, these are so Last Year, seen this did that, and you know what? You're right, these are Last Years projects, since I lost my blog, with my fall posts from last year, I thought I'd post a few pictures from Fall 2011
Dryer Vent Pumpkins - These are super easy and fun to make. Just take a piece of dryer vent cut to length, glue the ends together (I used hot glue) Then the fun part, decorate!
My dryer vent was silver so I painted them white, it would be easier to use the white vents, but we had the silver, so I used it. For the stems I used sticks, and thick grapevines. I then "painted" them with watered down glue, and just sprinkled copper colored glitter, and shook off the excess. Then just add some ribbon, done.
I arranged them with leaves, Spanish moss, and some pine cones, for a beautiful Mantel Display (which hopefully, I'll post tomorrow)
Last year the Dollar Tree had these great pumpkins, so I grabbed a few... wish I would have grabbed a few more, because I had a ton of ideas for them.
I sprayed painted them white, painted them with watered down glue, sprinkled on some Epsom Salts, for a classy glitter look, on some I added moss to the top and twine down the grooves.
The next one I added this frayed yarn I had in my stash.
Hopefully the Dollar Tree carries the Pumpkins again this year, anyone know if the dollars have any yet?
I found this old red board, looks like a panel of some kind, I thought it would make a great sign, so that's what I did, I made a sign, my very first sign! I Love words, so naturally I love signs. My handwriting is terrible, so my signs aren't great, but I'm still practicing, and getting a little better. You just may see more signs from me in the future...
I stenciled the HARVEST in Black
I printed out the "Blessings" from my computer and traced it on with carbon paper, then went over it with a Blue paint pen, not too shabby (well maybe I wanted it to look shabby) for a first attempt!
Dollar Tree Fall Leaves, a Twisted Stick, an aged clay pot and I've got a Topiary!
To age clay pots just rub them with candle wax, paint, wipe off the paint while it's still wet. To make the top, I just Hot glued balled up newspaper around 2 sticks I twisted together.
