Fall Blessings: Mantel Scape 2011

Numbers 6:24

The other day I posted my, Dryer Vent Pumpkins and a few other Fall Crafts from Last year, you can check out that post here: http://findingsecrettreasure.blogspot.com/2012/08/budget-friendly-super-friendly-fall.html

Here's how I used my Pumpkins, and "stuff"

Most of the treasures I used were either, Thrifted, Salvaged, or Found. I love creating a "picture" with very little or no money, it is so much more challenging than simply going out and buying...

With that said, I wouldn't mind taking on that challenge also, just walk into a store and buy what I like? I think I would enjoy that once in a while too...

I think a combination of the two would be perfect, oh well enough reflecting and dreaming, I'll just let you take a peek, and keep my words to a minimum.

I think I'll enjoy a little more Summer, before I start on this years Fall Decor

Thank you for visiting with me today, hopefully you have been inspired in some small way...

Budget Friendly (super friendly) Fall Decor Projects

James 5:7
The cooler evenings are putting me in the mood for Fall Decorating, but I think it will be a little while before I actually pull out the boxes with my Pumpkins, Leaves and all things Fall
All these projects, combined cost only a few dollars, you don't have to have a huge budget to spice things up for Fall!

I know what you're thinking, these are so Last Year, seen this did that, and you know what? You're right, these are Last Years projects, since I lost my blog, with my fall posts from last year, I thought I'd post a few pictures from Fall 2011

Dryer Vent Pumpkins  -  These are super easy and fun to make. Just take a piece of dryer vent cut to length, glue the ends together (I used hot glue) Then the fun part, decorate!
My dryer vent was silver so I painted them white, it would be easier to use the white vents, but we had the silver, so I used it. For the stems I used sticks, and thick grapevines. I then "painted" them with watered down glue, and just sprinkled copper colored glitter, and shook off the excess. Then just add some ribbon, done.

I arranged them with leaves, Spanish moss, and some pine cones, for a beautiful Mantel Display (which hopefully, I'll post tomorrow)

Last year the Dollar Tree had these great pumpkins, so I grabbed a few... wish I would have grabbed a few more, because I had a ton of ideas for them.

I sprayed painted them white, painted them with watered down glue, sprinkled on some Epsom Salts, for a classy glitter look, on some I added moss to the top and twine down the grooves.

The next one I added this frayed yarn I had in my stash.
Hopefully the Dollar Tree carries the Pumpkins again this year, anyone know if the dollars have any yet?

I found this old red board, looks like a panel of some kind, I thought it would make a great sign, so that's what I did, I made a sign, my very first sign! I Love words, so naturally I love signs. My handwriting is terrible, so my signs aren't great, but I'm still practicing, and getting a little better. You just may see more signs from me in the future...

I stenciled the HARVEST in Black

I printed out the "Blessings" from my computer and traced it on with carbon paper, then went over it with a Blue paint pen, not too shabby (well maybe I wanted it to look shabby) for a first attempt!

Dollar Tree Fall Leaves, a Twisted Stick, an aged clay pot and I've got a Topiary!

To age clay pots just rub them with candle wax, paint, wipe off the paint while it's still wet. To make the top, I just Hot glued balled up newspaper around 2 sticks I twisted together.

Modged Podged, a Graphic Fairy Pumpkin Label to an old bucket
She has the best Graphics, that she generously shares for free! check out her site here: http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/

These were fun too, Just Scrapbook Paper Modge Podged to blocks of wood, glued on Letters, I cut with my Curcit, then added some ribbon and ta-da!

Check back soon and I'll show you how I used all this fall madness!

Peoneys and Pearls

Revelation 21:21

Peonies and Pearls, and of course hydrangeas

I know it's a little late to be posting about peonies, but I'm going to anyways!

I was going through my pictures for an upcoming post and I saw these pictures and realized I never posted any of these. This one is the Flowers are in a old glass cookie jar, with some pearls. I used a vase inside the jar, so the flowers would stand up better.

So here they are, they aren't the best pictures, which is probably why I didn't post them before.  and here is my chippy door

I was playing around one day with different "vases" and Vase Fillers, so here's a few... The wire basket is from the Churches Rummage Sale

and I just love this little truck! My husband picked it up at a flee market, isn't is cute?

Summer Junking Treasures

James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (NIV)

This has been a great summer for junkin', collecting, well yea, Junkin'

What are you going to do with all that JUNK?
Sound familiar?

It's been a rust filled summer, so if you share my Love of Rust, take a scroll through my post. Here you will find some of my Summer Treasures, Thrifted, Salvaged and Yard Sale Finds,
all  Super Cheap or Free, beautiful JUNK.

First up is a half Rusty Bucket, picked up for 25 cents at G/W, the Hen and Chicks were 50 cents at the HMY "100 Mile Yard Sale". I hung them on the Rusty door Knob, of my favorite salvaged door.

The Umbrella Stand I'm using for my garden tools, was from the HMY.

The Rusty Quaker State Barrel, holds my Bird Seed, it was Salvaged while on it's way to the scrap yard.

This old Enamel Bowl was a "present" my husband dug up from an old barn foundation beside our Camp in the mountains.

The Plaid Thermos I picked up for 50 cents at the HMY.
The Wire Egg Basket is from our Church Rummage Sale.
The Small Basket, was another gift from my husband, he brought home from his Aunt, who is de-cluttering.

The lantern was another Rummage Sale find, it was black and I painted it white. The Broken Crate I already had.

Another picture of my Rusty Door Knob, and some Small Rusty Tools

A glimpse of my Salvaged Potting Table, with a Thrift Store Wire Basket and a Salvaged Licence Plate.

A pile of Junk? or Treasured Finds?

Thank you for visiting with me today, hopefully you have been inspired in some small way...
