Copy Cat Tablescape

Psalms 23:5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. (NIV)

From Folk Magazine - Buckets of Burlap
See the original at Bucket of Burlap

I have been wanting to copy this since I first opened the Summer Issue of Folk

I fell in love with everything about it...

Above I created a collage of theirs and mine, views...

Since my Dogwood has been done blooming for quite some time now, I used my Rose of Sharon, I like the white better, but we gotta work with what we have, right?

I also did not have an Old Ice cream Maker, not for lack of trying (the ones I found were all way out of my price range) So I made a "faux" Ice cream maker~ I removed the handle of one of my Grinders, and stuck it on an old Bucket, not too bad for FREE!

The rest was easy, I've used my Shutter as a table runner before, so it was right where I needed it

I had 2 Painters Drop Cloths (bought for project, yet to come) I just folded them and placed them under the Shutter

A small Tin Bucket, some Burlap and small branches of Rose of Sharon

Added some of my Mom's China, and called it complete... I think I like it.

Go copy something and join the fun at DebbieDoos

Thank you so much for visiting with me today, hopefully you have been inspired in some small way...

Please leave a comment so I know you were here, they really do make my day!
As always if you like it, PIN IT
God's Blessing to you and your families, have a wonderful day!

  1. You nailed this copycat, Lorrie! Love how you improvised the ice cream bucket. I wouldn't have known the difference anyway; I think the bucket itself is a nice idea.

  2. great copy Lori~! I adore that antique bucket- the shape and most especially the color..

thanks so much for visiting me so I could follow you back here and become a follower of yours too..

    see ya soon

  3. What a super cute idea! I happened to have an old wooden ice bucket, think I will use this soon for our outdoor patio table next time we have company. Great Copy too btw! Following you back~have a fabulous day.

  4. Lorrie: What a great copy cat design. You are quite clever to makeshift an old ice cream maker. Looks really real..Well done..Happy Wednesday..Judy

  5. That is just so lovely, and very clever to create your ice cream maker look-alike!

  6. Love your copy cat. The shutter as a table runner is too creative and the bucket is a favorite of mine. I use sap buckets all the time for flowers. Great display:)

  7. I've had that Buckets of Burlap pic pinned for awhile!! Your version is fabulous! And your faux ice cream maker is the perfect addition!

  8. I love your copycat. You are a genius to think of adding the fake handle-too cute! Thanks for following, I am now following you.

  9. :D I love unusual tables capes, so I love this copycat! The fake handle thingie is brilliant!

  10. I'm glad to see that I haven't been the only one that's been wanting to do that same table scape from Folk, but I have to clean the table off first. =0 I love your take on it and your flowers really set it off!

  11. It looks great! Wonder what my husband would say if I took the shutters off the house to use? (probably wouldn't be a happy camper. lol)
